forms guide

form submissions in your dashboard. nothing to build to receive them, no separate service to sign up for.

basic usage

point your html form's action at your pushto forms url. that's it.

<form action="https://pushto.host/api/f/YOUR_PROJECT_ID" method="POST">
  <input name="email" type="email" required />
  <input name="message" type="text" />
  <button type="submit">send</button>
</form>

your exact form url, project id filled in, is ready to copy on your project's forms page in the dashboard.

one project, many forms

add a hidden _formName field to tell your contact form from your signup form. the dashboard groups and filters by it. without one, submissions file under default.

<input type="hidden" name="_formName" value="contact" />

with fetch

if you want to handle the submission in JavaScript (no page redirect):

const res = await fetch("https://pushto.host/api/f/YOUR_PROJECT_ID", {
  method: "POST",
  headers: { "Content-Type": "application/json" },
  body: JSON.stringify({ email, message }),
});

if (res.ok) {
  // submission received
}

redirect after submit

add a hidden _redirect field to send the user somewhere after submission:

<input type="hidden" name="_redirect" value="https://mysite.com/thanks" />

a relative path like /thanks works too. it resolves against the page the form was submitted from. without a _redirect, the visitor returns to the page they came from.

spam filtering

add a honeypot field. bots fill it in, humans don't. if it has a value, we silently discard the submission.

<input name="_honeypot" type="text" style="display:none" tabindex="-1" />

in the dashboard

  • every submission in one place, newest first, live as they land
  • search by content, filter by form
  • export to csv with one click
  • delete one submission or clear them all
